What are our Hour of Operation and Location?
Our hours are operation are Tuesday through Wednesday 9:30 am - 6:30pm, Thursday 10am-8pm, Friday 9:30am - 6:30pm, and Saturday 9am-5:30pm. Our location is in East Orange, NJ. Our exact address is provided only through your confirmation and reminder email details once your have booked and confirmed your appointment online.
Are deposits required for an appointment?
Yes deposits are required for each appointment. Deposits will go towards service and are NON Refundable and are only transferable as described below in Cancellations/Reschedule sections.
What are your Grace Periods/Tardiness Policies?
There a 10 mins grace period for each appointment. At 10 mins we will attempt to contact you via text or phone call failure to respond or arrive to the appointment within 15 mins of original scheduled time will result in a cancellation, while any and all deposits will be forfeited, as well you may be subject to Late Cancellation/Late Reschedule or No Call No Show fee.
Wax appointments ei: Brow Wax services are cancelled after 10 min grace period has expired, no extra time is provided to these types of appointments.
What are your Cancellation/Reschedule or No Call No Show Policies?
Any cancellations or reschedules must be made at least 24 hours appointment, In the case, that an appointment needs to be cancelled/rescheduled within 24 hrs of the original appointment it would considered a late cancellation or late reschedule and are subject to a fee of $20. These fees is not apart of the original deposit or balance. Each appointment is permitted to be rescheduled once, the rescheduled date must be within 2 weeks of the original appointment anything beyond these limits will result in the cancellation of the appointment and forfeit any deposits made.
-No Call/No Show clients will have the same grace period explained above, failure to respond or arrive within 15 mins the original appointment will be cause to consider your appointment No Call/No Show. This will result in being subject to No Call/No Show fee which can be 50% of remaining balance or $50 whichever is greater and forfeiting any deposits made, in addition client will be banned for securing any future appointments online.

Are we able to purchase skin care products?
Yes, professional grade products are available online and in person at appointment. If you have not an in person appointment with us we recommend booking a Virtual Consultation with Shay before purchasing products.
How Long Does Shipment Take ?
Most orders ship directly from us in New Jersey. Order that are drop shipping directly from the manufacture may take longer to process. All orders take 1-7 days to process and ship. Shipping information to be updated and delivery should be expected with 2-10 business days. If 7 days have passed and you haven't received any shipping update please reach out to us at sales@lashedbyshay.com.
Pick Ups are also available daily locally in the Essex County NJ Area please contact us directly to schedule a product pickup.
How Long Does A Eyelash Service Take ?
An Eyelash Lift and Tint takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to complete, the lift effect will last up to 6 weeks before a touch up is required. Eyelash extension sets can vary based on option you book a Classic full set can take up from 1.5 hr to 2 hrs. Where a Hybrid or Volume full set can take from 2 to 3 hrs. At 2-3 weeks there should be about 50% of your extensions remaining this is ideal time to get a fill in. Fill in done at 50% extension remaining should expect the service to take half the time of the full set ranging from 1hr to 2 hr to complete.
What should I do to prepare for an Eyelash Service?
Please be sure to come with clean eyelashes and lids. Please no mascara or left over makeup. Also avoid any heavy makeup or oils in the eye area all together.
Do Extension Make Your Natural Lashes Fall Out?
Absolutely not! I like to say if you don't have them I can't lash them.Truthfully, extensions do not make you lose your natural lashes they are applied individually to each lash in a sanitary non damaging way. This is part of the reason why each lash set is custom to you.
How Does Lash Styling Work?
Every set is custom to you meaning the lengths, diameter, and curl of the lashes are all custom to your lash goals and what is healthy for your natural lashes. Lash styles are the different styles used to complete a full set for example rounding lash style where the longest lengths are in the center of the eye or cat eye style where the length gradually get longer making the longest lengths at the out corner of the eye. Style all depends on what you like and what is most ideal for your eye shape. Any style can be applied to any full set option.
When Should I Get A Fill In and How Do I Care For My Lashes?
A fill in appointment should be done every 2-3 weeks, with proper care extension fill ins can be booked up to 23 days with proper care and 50% of lashes remaining. If you are beyond 23 days since your last eyelash appointment you appointment will automatically be upgraded to full set regardless of retention.
Care for your lashes by brushing with a lash wand daily and cleansing them daily with the Lashed By Shay Foam Cleanser. Aftercare kit is available for purchase it includes our foam cleanser, our reusable gentle cleansing brush, and on the go lash wand. After your service is complete you will receive an aftercare email within 24hrs with detailed instruction on Does and Don't for your lashes.
Every lash set is custom to you and no two sets are the same. Ideally you should understand that no one can have same exact set or have two sets look exactly the same , as each feature is different ei. eye shape, state of your natural lashes, length of natural lashes,and etc.
How should I prepare for a facial appointment?
Start with avoid any fillers, botox, chemical or laser treatments 7-14 days before any facial . If you are looking to book an advance treatment like Dermaplaning or Microdermabrasion please discontinue any AHA at least 5-7 days before, as they may be a contraindication for the appointment. Please also make note of any products you are using on the daily basis as well as your weekly skincare routine. If you are a first time clients or are trying a new treatment you may arrive 10 mins early to your appointment to complete and review any consent or consult forms.
Is it required to purchase product after an appointment?
It is not required to purchase any product, however it highly recommended to purchase a routine as we offer professional grade effective products. Any product recommendations are based on your skin types, condition and goals. On average client spend about $50-$150 on product at initial appointment.
Should I expect anything after a facial?
This is on a client by client bases, it would also depend on the type of facial a client received and what conditions they are looking to address. After a chemical peel, most client should expect sensitivity, dryness, and peeling. After Dermaplaning, clients can expect smoother skin and better makeup application. We a thoroughly discuss any expectation during and after any facial so client may have time to ask any questions.
How am I able to book a Chemical Peel ?
Chemical Peels are available to clients after the Pre Chemical Peel facial is booked. Chemical Peel protocols also included Pre/Post Chemical Peel at home routine. There are also Chemical Peel Series available for purchase. No Chemical Peels will be performed in the summer, or on first time clients.
